Security is important to OdieVPN. If you see abuse, a vulnerability, or something suspicious, we want to hear about it.
We take reports seriously and try to respond carefully.
Report abuse
You can report abuse at abuse@odievpn.nl.
Use this address for example for:
- spam through OdieVPN;
- attacks or scans;
- threats or harassment;
- fraud;
- phishing;
- other harmful use.
Please include as much clear information as possible, such as:
- date and time;
- what happened;
- IP address or server name, if you have it;
- screenshots or logs, if relevant;
- how we can reach you.
Do not send sensitive data if it is not needed.
Report a vulnerability
Have you found a security vulnerability in OdieVPN? Please report it at security@odievpn.nl.
We appreciate responsible disclosure of security issues. This helps fix vulnerabilities before malicious people can abuse them.
What we ask from reporters
If you report a vulnerability, we ask you to:
- not view, copy, or share other people’s data;
- not damage systems;
- not place malware;
- not use social engineering;
- not perform DDoS or performance testing without permission;
- not disclose the vulnerability publicly before we have had time to respond;
- clearly explain what you found.
A good report includes for example:
- a short explanation of the problem;
- steps to reproduce the issue;
- the possible impact;
- screenshots or technical details, if helpful;
- your contact details.
What you may expect from us
If you make a serious report, we try to:
- confirm your report;
- review the report carefully;
- ask questions if we need more information;
- fix the issue as soon as possible;
- keep you informed where we can.
We cannot promise a fixed resolution time. Some issues are simple; others take more time.
No reward promised
At the moment, OdieVPN does not have an official bug bounty program.
That means we do not promise a monetary reward for reports. We do greatly appreciate responsible reporting.
Later we can consider whether an official thank-you page or reward form is appropriate.
Security.txt
We have added a security.txt file. It is a standard way to show where security issues can be reported.
Security and privacy together
We want to be able to address abuse without collecting unnecessary amounts of data.
So we keep looking for balance: enough information to keep OdieVPN safe, but no more than needed.
